General Information
LPIA is located on the western end of Nassau in New Providence, The Bahamas, approximately 16 km (10 miles) west of downtown Nassau.
LPIA operates 24/7, but specific services and counters have varying hours of operation. In the US Departure terminal, airport security and US Customs opens at 6AM. In the Domestic and International terminals, airport security opens at 6AM and closes at 10PM.

There are no smoking areas past security checkpoint. Smoking is permitted only in designated curbside areas outside of the Arrivals and Departure terminals. Please look for cigarette butt disposal units in these areas to help keep our airport clean.
Travel and Flight Information
Passengers traveling internationally are advised to arrive at least 3 hours before their scheduled departure, and those on domestic flights should arrive 2 hours before departure.

Customs and Immigration
Yes, US Customs and Border Protection preclearance is available for travelers heading to the United States.
Passengers must present a valid passport and any necessary visas or travel documents. US-bound travelers may also need to complete the CBP declaration form.
Mobile Passport Control (MPC) and Global Entry are currently offered to US returning residents and green card holders in the US Customs hall. You can download the MPC app for iOS or Android ahead of arriving at the airport to take advantage of the fast-track MPC line. You may also do your Global Entry interview with one of the US Customs agents at the Customs booth.
Our LPIA ambassadors will be present in the US Customs hall if you require additional assistance with these programs.
Transportation and Parking
Options include taxis, car rentals, ride-sharing services, and private shuttles. Public buses are not permitted to operate within the airport.
Yes, both short-term and long-term parking facilities are available. Parking rates and locations are available here.
LPIA’s Park ‘N Go packages are designed for the busy professional who travels frequently and wants the convenience of parking in our short-term facilities, which offer close proximity to our terminals. *Note: Park ‘N Go rates are not VAT inclusive.
Parking at LPIA is cashless. We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Payments can be made at the booths at both parking facilities.

Yes, several car rental companies operate at LPIA, including Avis, Hertz, Budget, Dollar and Thrifty. To book a car at any of these rental companies, book here. We suggest you always book a car with a third-party operator that you are familiar with.
We currently do not offer valet parking at LPIA; however, we do have designated pick-up and drop off areas at both of our Domestic and International terminals as well as handicap zones.

If your final destination is Sandals Royal Bahamian, Atlantis or Baha Mar, these hotels all have transport desks located in the International Arrivals terminal at LPIA and will handle your transportation to your respective hotel.
Facilities and Services
Yes, the airport offers a variety of dining, premium shopping, and duty-free outlets, including jewelry, unique Bahamian gifts and clothing. You can view our full list of shopping at LPIA options here.
Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the airport. To connect to the network, open your phone’s network settings and look for “LPIA Free WiFi.” You will be asked to fill out a brief form to connect.
Yes, there are several ATMs located throughout the terminal in the Domestic check-in area, upstairs in the Domestic/International departure lounge, in the Arrivals terminal, and upstairs in the US departure lounge near the food-court.
Yes, LPIA has two premium lounges including the Lignum Club lounge located in the Domestic and International Departures terminal and a lounge located upstairs in the US Departures terminal. Guests can access as a part of their first-class ticket amenities or as a paid guest.
There are several food options located around the terminals at LPIA including a food court in both the Domestic/International terminal and the US Departures terminal. Special Assistance
LPIA is equipped with ramps, elevators, accessible restrooms, and wheelchairs. Contact your airline or the airport at least 48 hours in advance for additional assistance.
Yes, we provide nursing rooms, diaper-changing stations, and family-friendly dining options.
The Sunflower Lanyard Program at LPIA is an initiative designed to discreetly support individuals with visible or hidden disabilities. By wearing a sunflower-patterned lanyard, travellers can signal to airport staff and other service providers that they may need additional assistance, time, or understanding as they navigate through the airport.
Lanyards are distributed free of charge at LPIA. Guests can email sunflower@nas.bs or call 702-1000 and provide name, date of travel and flight details to secure a Sunflower Lanyard. NAD will arrange collection through the relevant airline or directly with the guest. Requests can also be made by contacting The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities on J.F. K. Drive and Bethel Avenue or calling 1 242 397 8600.
COVID-19 and Health
LPIA follows strict health and safety protocols, including frequent sanitization and mask requirements in designated areas.
Yes, LPIA’s nurse’s station is located in the US Check-in hall in the US terminal and is open from 8am to 9pm daily. You may contact the nurse at 242-377-1713.
Lost and Found
Contact LPIA’s Lost and Found department at 242-702-7022. Be prepared to provide a description of the lost item and details about where it may have been left.
Miscellaneous
Yes, kiosks and tour operators are available for booking excursions to popular attractions in The Bahamas. You can visit these amenities at the Arrivals terminal at LPIA.
Pets are allowed if they comply with The Bahamas’ travel regulations and permits. Service animals are permitted throughout the airport. We ask that you please pick up after your pets or look for designated pet relief areas throughout the airport.
Luggage storage facilities are not currently available at LPIA. Check with your airline for early check-in options.
